Over the past couple of years I have put my photographic skills to use for the benefit of two charitable organisations as a way of giving something back to the community.
I provide a range of services free to both national and local community charities to help them with their work and promotion.
I have recently become involved with a local community based charity run by De Montfort University which aims to bring the skills of both the University and local people to help the overall community within Leicester.
The project has a wide scope of work, from health based projects, educational schemes to more general community building events.
As a photographer and designer I have a keen interest in architecture including historic buildings which lead me to become a member of the National Trust.
Over the years have visited and photographed many of their properties and events which I provide to the trust to promote the great work they do in preserving our national heritage.
One of the greatest honours of being a photographer is capturing the day a couple in love commit to one and other for the rest of their lives.
After the confetti has blown away, the cake is eaten and the flowers gone, the photos I take provide a lasting memory of the day to be enjoyed forever.
Capturing the joining of two people on their Wedding day is the great privilege for any photographer.
Wedding photography should be about capturing the 'emotion of the day' along with all the little details which can be missed on the on actual day, so that the happy couple can look back in years to come and remember it like it was only yesterday.
Two people, showing love from one and other and committing to a life together is a wonderful thing.
Having a photographer there to capture the day will allow the couple to be reminded of that day forever and share the memories with their guests, relatives and friends.
Events are all about people, whether it's a family member’s birthday, a christening of newborn, or a corporate evening; having a professional photographer is a great way to capture the atmosphere.
From team building events to gala dinners, having a photographer on hand to record the proceedings is a great way to remember the day and provide for marketing opportunities.
Big birthdays, christenings, family days, reunions can all benefit greatly from having a professional photographer there to capture the festivities and allow everyone to relax on the day and reminisce after the event.
Having a background in a retail design provides me with a unique understanding of an interior space. This knowledge allows me to ensure I capture the essence of the environment and the tiny detail within the final images.
I regularly undertake assignment to photograph stores for Lloydspharmacy for use with both for digital and print medium.
Sites have included their the Health Villages, Premium stores and concept branches.
Ranne Creative Interiors commissioned my services to photography a Coffee Republic concession within large retail unit; the final images made up both an online gallery and print media.
Travel is where my passion for photography began; after a long spell of not travelling I went on a trip to Barcelona with nothing more than a bridge camera (still have it and use it) and returned with 1500 images and the photographic seed was planted.
Since that trip, the photography equipment has been upgraded along with the destination list and I now use a professional DSLR camera.
In 2012 one of my most outstanding trips was to the region of Germany known as Bavaria where I hired a car and travelled from Frankfurt to Munich on the Romantische Strasse (Romantic Road).
The route is a mixture of medieval towns, rolling farmland and the Black Forest leading down towards the Alps with it's fairytale castles, all making for some wonderful photographs.
2011 saw me visit Romania to tour Transylvania made famous by the author Bram Stoker. This beautiful country with its warm and friendly people was the highlight of the year.
I was able to visit the Castle made famous by Bram Stoker, the birth place of the real 'Dracula' as well as spending a night in a hotel completely made of ice and built on a frozen lake; again it made for some stunning images.
I’m a photographer based in Leicester, with a degree in design, but in the last five years I have discovered a love for photography and since undertaken several courses to assist in becoming professional photographer. At present I am studying to become an Associate member of the Royal Photographic Society.
Several years ago a friend asked me to photograph their wedding; at the time, the thought of what I had agreed to was daunting, but when the day finally came, I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to do it again.
I pride myself on being able to build a warm working relationship with my clients and make it a priority to regularly communicate, meet and get to each of my clients so I can tailor my methods to match their needs.
I am not a pushy photographer, who attempts to control proceedings; I aim to capture the atmosphere without impacting on event. Of course there will be always be some formal images, but I work with you to ensure these are completed with ease.
